Are you having problems aligning your schedule with your US clients?
The US has 6 time zones across 50 states. So it can be a bit tricky to sync your calendars.
Worry not. Here’s a simple guide to US time zones – and how they translate into ours.
Adjusting to Your Client’s Office Hours
The US states are divided into 6 time zones: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, and Hawaii-Aleutian time.
Quite overwhelming, but we can just break this down. Let’s say your work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM.
For the sake of simplicity, we’ll just use Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) for all time zones. The Philippines is at GMT+8, so you just have to adjust the time difference based on their GMT:

All About Daylight Savings Time
Easy enough, right? Well, it doesn’t stop there. You should also consider Daylight Savings Time (DST).
DST starts on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November to save energy and efficiently use daylight hours during specific seasons.
During DST, most of the US states only have 23 hours in a day. Thus, you have to adjust the time difference by an hour earlier.
Take note that DST does not apply to Hawaii-Aleutian Time. Also, most of Arizona does not practice DST as well, so be guided accordingly.
