Last December 2, Remote Staff held its fifteenth year-end party at the I’M Hotel in Makati.
This year-end party is unique, not just because it coincides with Remote Staff’s 15th Anniversary celebrations. But also because it’s the first time Remote Staff held a year-end party face-to-face since the pandemic started.
The theme for this year’s year-end party is a ball masque. Thus, the staff and managers arrived in magnificent suits and gowns with their unique masks at the celebration held in the Hotel’s function room.
The managers arrived a day earlier to hold their year-end meeting. While most of the participants arrived on the morning of December 2.
Registration and Opening Remarks.
Remote Staff’s year-end party officially started at 6 pm on December 2, with a registration of participants.
During the registration, there was also a band playing fantastic music while the participants acquainted with one another. While this was going on, the host officially kicked off the program at around 6:55 PM.
And since it’s Remote Staff’s first face-to-face year-end party since the pandemic, the company got Mr. Miguel Salamat, a host/radio DJ/and even voice-over artist with over five years of experience in the event industry, to preside over the festivities.
After the introductions, Remote Staff’s CEO, Chris Jankulovski, made the opening remarks. Despite being based in Australia, he never missed a year-end party, except this one.
This is because he was busy setting up Remote Staff’s US branch. So his opening remarks were presented via Zoom instead.
Immediately after the opening remarks was the introduction of the various departments of the company and their members, starting with Operations-LAO/Compliance/Support, Recruitment Business Development, HRA, Recruitment Operations, IT Operations, Marketing, BP and I, and finally, the Accounts department.
Afterwards, there was a raffle draw between two presentations where five lucky staff members won five-hundred pesos (Php 500) each. There were also several raffles with cash prizes worth Php 1000, Php 2000, Php 5000, and more.
The Party Proper.
Once the opening remarks and department introductions were out of the way, the party began in earnest. It started with a small mini-game called the amakabogera challenge.
This is where a volunteer (or volunteered) staff from each department showed off their magnificent outfits as though they were in a fashion show. Afterwards, they all received one-thousand pesos (Php 1,000) as a reward for participating.
This was followed by one of the most anticipated events of the evening, the Department presentations. It began with an introduction of the judges for the competition, including:
- Rica Jankulovski: General Manager
- Marck Daza: Digital Marketing Manager
- Jimmar Repolido: IT Director
- Cristina Reclamado: Chief HR Officer
- Jerna Jariel: Manager, Human Resources and Admin Services
Once the introductions were over, the first of the department presentations started. First up was the Accounting/Compliance Department, followed by BPI, IT Operations, Recruitment Operations, Recruitment Business Development, and last but not least Operations-LAO/Support.
After each presentation, the judges would comment on each performance, similar to how the judges on shows like Pilipinas Got Talent would do it. And between each presentation was another raffle draw for five lucky winners.
Food, Beverages, and Prizes.
Once all the departments made their presentations, the judges took the time to tally their scores. In the meantime, the attendees enjoyed the delicious buffet.
There was also a mobile bar that served various cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. There was also a photo booth in the area, where individuals and groups had a blast having their photos taken.
For many, this was the first time they’d gotten to hang out in person with their fellow team members or co-workers from other departments. Thus, they wasted no time enjoying the overall experience.
The host also announced the winners for the King and Queen of the night for the year-end party. This year, the king of the night was Raph Apolonio, while the queen of the night was Kat Maniquis.
And after everyone had finished their dinners, it was time to announce the winners of the Department Presentations. At stake was a brand-new iPhone 14 Pro Max worth Php 75,200.
So, who won the prize? It was none other than the Recruitment Business Development Department.
Ending the Party With a Bang!
Besides awarding the YEP presentation winners and the king and queen of the night, others also received special awards.
These rewarded employees who have been working for Remote Staff for a long time now. Special mention also goes to Mr. Normaniel Macutay, who has been with Remote Staff for fourteen (!) years.
The awarding of the winners of the YEP presentation, the Recruitment Business Development team, also happened during this time.
After that, Miss Rica Janculovski, Remote Staff’s General Manager, gave the closing remarks. Afterwards, the lights dimmed, and the dance floor opened up for those who wanted to show their moves.
The dance floor was open until 11 pm, when the remaining partygoers had to vacate the function room. Some of the more sober participants attended an after-party in I’M Hotel’s Antidote Bar.
And that concludes Remote Staff’s fifteenth year-end party. Not a bad way to end a memorable year, eh?
